At Magnat CPA inc., all client engagements are led, supervised, and signed by Matthew Lipman, CPA, the sole shareholder practicing within the firm.
To support our internal workflows, we work independent collaborators (subcontractors), located both in Canada and internationally. They do not act as employees of the firm and do not represent themselves as CPAs in Québec.
Matthew Lipman is the founder and leader of Mogul CPA. After graduating from Concordia’s John Molson School of Business Bachelor of Commerce program with a major in accounting in 2014, Matthew went on to complete his graduate degree in chartered accounting and obtained his CPA designation in 2016. He then completed the three-year In-Depth Tax Course offered by CPA Canada in 2018.
Matthew worked for one of the world’s largest accounting firms for just over four years, specializing in REIT corporate taxes. He transitioned to a boutique firm specializing in serving clients within the real estate industry. There, his rapid ascent to leadership positions culminated in his partnership within the firm.
Matthew left his old firm and founded Mogul CPA in 2023.
Brent is an accountant with over a decade of experience in public and private accounting. After earning his degree from Brock University, he began in public practice and spent eight years advising on tax, assurance, and financial reporting. He later transitioned into private accounting and consulting, where he has supported organizations across the U.S. and Canada with tax compliance, financial strategy, and business advisory services. Brent joined Mogul CPA in 2025.
Karen is an accountant and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) with over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, and management consulting. She has operated a public accounting practice and worked with clients in diverse industries, advising businesses of all sizes on valuation, corporate finance, and strategic planning.
